NerdQaxe++

76 W (15.8 J/TH)

Both devices are open-source, plug-n-play Bitcoin miners built for home and solo mining. They use SHA-256 ASICs, include built-in Wi-Fi, and are managed via AxeOS, a browser-based operating system.

đź›’ Where can I buy a miner?

All units are available through Solo Miner. We ship globally, include a 30-day warranty, and offer direct support. We do not recommend buying from random third-party resellers.

🔌 What can I mine with it?

Both devices mine Bitcoin ($BTC) and any other SHA-256 coins, such as Bitcoin Cash or Bitcoin SV. But let’s be honest: This is a Bitcoin-first miner. If you want to point it at another chain, you can, but why would you want to mine anything other than $BTC?

đź’° Is solo mining profitable?

A few months ago, winning a block solo felt like winning a lottery ticket. Today, with pools like Parasite Pool, your odds and incentives are stronger. Profitability depends on:

  • Electricity cost
  • BTC price
  • Network difficulty
  • Whether you mine solo or via a pool

With Parasite Pool, miners pay zero fees. If you solve a block, you win 1 BTC. The rest of the block reward is distributed to the other miners in the pool based on contributed hash power. (Full article coming soon.)

Running a Bitaxe Gamma costs less than keeping your Wi-Fi router on: about $2 per month. NerdQaxe++ draws about as much power as a ceiling fan running all day, roughly $8 to $12 per month. Both miners are designed for low power use, making them ideal for home setups.

đź’» Do I need a dedicated computer to use a BitAxe?

No. You don’t need a Raspberry Pi, a PC, or a rack of servers. Both devices run on ESP32-S3 microcontrollers with built-in Wi-Fi. You configure and monitor everything through a web browser on any device. Yes, even your phone. It’s so easy, it should be illegal.

🧾 What’s the warranty & support?

All purchases through Solo Miner include:

  • A 30-day limited warranty
  • Email-based support for setup, troubleshooting, and firmware
  • Friendly and fast response time

đź›  How do I update my Bitaxe firmware?

Both devices use AxeOS for firmware updates:

  1. Download the latest firmware from Bitaxe.org (Gamma) or NerdQaxe GitHub.
  2. Open your miner's web interface.
  3. Go to Settings → Firmware Update.
  4. Upload the .bin file and click update.
  5. Reboot and give it a minute.

And you’re good to go.

🧩 What does “open-source” mean?

The hardware and software are fully open. You are not locked into a vendor or a platform.

You can:

  • Inspect and modify the firmware and hardware
  • Build your own version if you want
  • Replace parts or tune it to your needs (upgrade to Noctua fans for a quieter setup, overclock to squeeze more juice, etc.)
  • Contribute improvements back to the community
  • Run a miner you actually trust

Open source matters because it gives you control. You can see what’s running, and you can change it. No black box bullshit.
